Job Description
This role involves administering nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of patients. The incumbent provides quality care to designated patients and takes on various responsibilities, such as participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
Core Responsibilities:
Collects patient assessment data, notifies appropriate nurse of actual or potential problems.
Records patient information concisely, accurately, and completely.
Administers medications and performs treatments and procedures for all patients as assigned.
Assists with preparation of patient materials or correspondence.
Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
Participates in team conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas with team members.
Department Specific Functions:
Responsible for patient triage, attending clinics, calling pharmacy for prescription refills.
Preparation of charts: review prior orders, ensure that results are obtained and properly documented into EMR
Prepares patient and assists providers during patient examinations and medical treatment.
Maintains appropriate supply of medications, immunizations, and general nursing supplies
Prepares and stocks exam rooms
Participates in all phases of education and maintenance of records
CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid State of Florida LPN license
BLS from American Heart Association only
