Job Overview
Northside Swim Academy prides itself on offering the most aquatic services under one umbrella that are high quality, affordable, and individualized to all communities. We offer lifeguard training and basic life support certification through the American RedCross. Everything is taught through the most up to date curriculum given by the American RedCross. We are looking for certified lifeguard instructors/CPR instructors to teach our lifeguard classes and CPR classes at our partnered locations and headquarters locations. Northside Swim Academy operates out of 3 locations including Sandy Springs LA Fitness (6690 Roswell Rd Atlanta GA 30328), Snellville LA Fitness (2279 Pinehurst Rd Snellville GA 30078), and our headquarters location opening in April of 2026 (2600 Prado Ln Marietta GA 30067).
We are looking for American RedCross certified lifeguard instructors and/or basic life support (CPR/AED/First Aid) instructors to conduct our lifeguard classes and CPR classes. We host about 1 lifeguard class a month and 2 CPR classes per month. Our current schedule (subject to change) can be found on our website: https://northsideswimacademy.com/lifeguard-training.
Duties
Conduct lifeguard classes to certify lifeguard candidates by the RedCross standards
Follow the curriculum and teach all of the mandated skills required by the RedCross
Give adequate feedback to all candidates in an effective way so all candidates have the best chance to pass the class
Use objectives provided by the RedCross to determine if candidates are able to pass a skill in the appropriate standard
Keep track of candidate progress on the RedCross Organization portal to make sure candidates are completing the online portion in a timely manner
Demonstrate all skills that candidates are required to do
Report to the Regional Lifeguard Training Director with all important matters regarding lifeguard and CPR classes
Communicate with candidates via text message, phone call, and/or email to make sure candidates have all the adequate information needed in order to complete the class
Requirements:
Valid RedCross lifeguard instructor and/or CPR instructor certification (NOTE: if you have this from a different organization, you will need to take a transfer class in order to be able to teach and certify under the American RedCross)
Good communication skills
Good coaching skills/teaching skills
Time management skills
Passion for aquatics and safety around water
Have taught at least 1 lifeguard and/or CPR class before (highly preferred)
Reliable transportation to get to locations
Smart phone device
Compensation: Compensation will be paid out under a contractor position (1099/W9 Contractor). Payment will be done on a per class completed basis starting at a base payment of $100.00 per class. If 5% of the gross profit is greater than $100.00, then 5% gross profit of that class will be paid out. Contractor payments that are pay upon completion are paid out on Wednesday evenings the day after the class will have been completed. All NSA staff LG certification classes will be compensated at $100.00 since the company is not generating any revenue for these quarterly classes.
