The incumbent is a member of the frontline team. The Apprentice, Lift Mechanic exemplifies our culture of creating revolutionary guest experiences and contributes positively toward uniting the team around purpose and fun. This purpose of this role is to The Lift Mechanic Trainee assist in maintenance, modification and inspection of ski lift equipment under the supervision of the certified Lift Mechanic.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
.Assists with the construction, modifications, preventative maintenance and inspections of ski lifts as per Code Z+8, TSSA regulations, the lift manufacturer and the insurance carriers standards
Keep record of maintenance performed as per Blue Mountains preventative maintenance program
Assist in the troubleshooting of lift problems as they occur
. Advises the Lift Supervisory team of any occurrences or changes in conditions that may affect the lift, machinery and/or its passengers
Perform daily pre-operational lift start-up inspection to ensure that each lift is operable during operating season
Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment both in the operations maintenance shop and in the field at the lift
Occasionally assist in other areas Mountain Operations Maintenance as needed to ensure the resorts success (IE. Snowmaking, Attractions Maintenance etc.)
Is aware of and is compliant with the standards and tactics of the business unit as directed by their leaders through training and coaching.
Provides feedback to leadership that influences the planning for future seasons.
Understands departmental service standards, is receptive of training and communication to create revolutionary guest experiences and achieve departmental goals.
Skillfully uses available resources, training and communication channels to achieve a highly productive, efficient environment with minimal downtime that produces high quality product(s) and service(s).
Participates in programming and completes training that unites employees around purpose and fun and therefore results in high employee satisfaction and engagement within their department.
Embraces and actively participates in a culture of teamwork between all employees that achieves the department's targets.
Participates in programming and training that ensures compliance with all legislated requirements and company policies and processes.
Participates in and adheres to all compulsory training provided, as mandated by government agencies pertaining to risk and safety.
Follows Crisis Management direction/plan, as designed by Crisis Committee and/or Risk Management Team.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?
High school diploma
Must possess interest and aptitude in basic mechanical systems
Must possess interest and aptitude in using basic hand tools
Registered as a SML-T (TSSA certificate)
Experience as a lift Operator would be a strong asset
Basic knowledge of building construction as well as TSSA requirements and the Z+8 code is required
G license required
Certifications as a Welder, Millwright, Electrician or Mechanic would be an asset
Basic knowledge of hydraulics and low voltage circuitry would be an asset
Experience operating off road equipment, ATV, snowmobiles, etc
Ability to work at high heights
