Here’s what you’ll be doing as a Junior Line Cook:
The role of a Junior Line Cook at Stella's, is to maintain and exceed guest satisfaction through preparing dishes, specifically focusing on execution according to our recipes and standards. As a Junior Line Cook, you will also support the team by maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone looking to grow their culinary skills in a supportive kitchen environment. Training will be provided in various stations depending on your level of experience.
The role of a Junior Line Cook will operate the following stations: Sandwich, Salads and Grills.
Reports To – Restaurant Manager and Supervisors
Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere to Manitoba Food Safe requirements
Assist in the preparation and assembly of menu items during service
Follow recipes, portion standards, and kitchen procedures accurately
Keep workstations stocked, sanitized, and organized
Prep ingredients such as chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, etc.
Support line cooks during peak service times
Ensure food is prepared and presented to Stella’s quality standards
Comply with all health and safety regulations
Duties will include washing dishes and performing daily and weekly cleaning tasks
Qualifications:
Maintain Manitoba Food Handler and WHMIS certificate
Previous kitchen or food prep experience is an asset, but not required
Willingness to learn and take direction
Strong work ethic and reliability
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices
Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the team. This include both verbal communication and active listening to understand and respond to instructions and requests.
Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts including days and evenings. Weekends are mandatory.
