Job Description
Nakshatra Systems is seeking a skilled Linux Software Developer/Engineer to maintain, upgrade and manage the integrity of our software repository.
This role requires technical expertise in compiling and creating software from source code, using package creation tools, debugging with gdb, patching and managing software patches, and proficiency in Linux commands, filters, bash scripting, C and Python.
A strong understanding of build systems, CVS and Git is essential. Knowledge of Slackware Linux is a significant advantage, as candidates with this expertise will be prioritized.
The successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve assigned tasks within specified deadlines are also required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain, upgrade and manage the integrity of our software repository.
• Compile and create software from source code.
• Use package creation tools to update/create software packages.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues using gdb and other tools.
• Patch and manage software patches.
• Monitor and stay current with CVE's.
• Review changes and provide bug fixes.
• Connect with upstream developers for solutions.
• Maintain Changelogs and other documentation.

• Fluency in English with good verbal and written skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
