Advantage Tutors provides 1-1 evidence-based support for students. Our mission is to allow every child the opportunity to read. We offer structured literacy using evidence-based, systematic reading and math programs.
We are currently seeking one French Immersion Tutor and one English Tutor to deliver online literacy and/or math instruction to students.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Structured Literacy Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in education, expertise in structured literacy methodologies, and a commitment to helping students of various ages and abilities improve their literacy skills.
Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 or small group instruction in French/English following structured, research-backed methods (training provided).
Deliver engaging lessons to address students' specific literacy/math needs.
Use evidence-based instructional strategies to support student learning.
Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods as necessary to ensure comprehension and skill development.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
Maintain detailed records of student progress, including assessment results, session notes, and recommendations for further improvement.
Qualifications:
For the French Position: Fluency in French and comfort teaching French language learners.
Strong knowledge of early literacy and/or math instruction (structured literacy experience is a strong asset).
Experience working with students who have dyslexia, ADHD, or other learning needs .
Willingness to complete training in structured literacy.
Professionalism, reliability, and a passion for helping students thrive.
Must pass a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check .
