Job Title: Library Support Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Library Support Specialist. In this position, you will play a critical part in enhancing literacy outcomes for children in our partner schools.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Library Support Specialist. As a key member of our program, you will be responsible for providing coaching and support to teachers, librarians, and principals to ensure effective implementation of our Literacy Program.
• Develop a thorough understanding of our Literacy Program design and support its implementation across assigned project schools.
• Manage and monitor library programs to ensure adherence to the program design and provide regular progress reports to supervisors.
• Conduct teacher training sessions and offer ongoing support to ensure sustained improvement in literacy outcomes.
• Collaborate with schools to establish and maintain functional libraries, including site verification, community meetings, and coordination of resources.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Key responsibilities include:
• Regularly visiting schools to monitor program implementation, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
• Supporting the development of libraries through initial setup and ongoing maintenance, including book leveling, reading activities, and check-out systems.
• Participating in training sessions for teachers and librarians on best practices for library management and literacy enhancement.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
• A Bachelor's degree in education or social sciences.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in development projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• A solution-oriented approach and high level of personal and professional integrity.
