We are looking for a Paralegal with experience in debt recovery to join our Litigation team. The Paralegal will work closely with the four other Paralegals and Litigation Team Lead to determine case direction and strategy.

The role

As iwoca’s Litigation Paralegal, your role will be to:
• Independently draft and serve legal documents, hearing bundles, orders, applications and witness statements
• Cooperate with wider Legal and Collections team to investigate more complex cases and occasionally advise on the appropriate escalation, including insolvency.
• Raise and manage in-house money claims using MCOL or through the CNBC and occasionally attend court to swear affidavits
• Manage and monitor the active litigation and enforcement action taken against a portfolio of users
• Complete Court applications to enforce County Court Judgments including charging orders, oral examinations and High Court Enforcement.
• Manage defended cases and prepare directions questionnaires, witness statements and other evidence required for hearings and trials
• Ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation regulatory body guidelines
• Adhere to our company policies and procedures
• Uphold iwoca’s company reputation at all times

Ideally you'll have:
• At least 2 years debt recovery or legal support experience, ideally in the commercial / business sector
• Proven experience of raising and managing money claims
• Experience in business and personal insolvency issues would be hugely beneficial
• Empathy, forbearance and professionalism
• Strong communication skills, confidence and diligence
• Conscientious and thorough, with strong attention to detail
• The ability to deal with a variety of challenges, innovate and think on your feet
