Litigation Paralegal – Bilingual Spanish
An award-winning personal injury law firm dedicated to obtaining the best recovery possible for each client with experienced, professional, and aggressive representation throughout California is seeking an outstanding Litigation Paralegal to join their legal defense team.
Full-time, on-site role to support a range of tasks in the litigation process. This includes working directly with our senior attorneys and litigation team to assist with the preparation of pleadings and motions, legal research, document review, and maintaining case files. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, fast-paced law firm located in West LA near Westwood Village and UCLA.
Responsibilities
• Propound and respond to written discovery
• File and serve pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Prepare deposition notices and subpoenas
• Calendar all dates with the use of calendaring and case management software
• Monitor statute of limitation dates for filing lawsuits and government claim deadlines
• Ensure compliance with all pre-trial deadlines and requirements as set forth in the California Rules of Court, Code of Civil Procedure, and Local Rules for the Superior Courts
• Prepare summons and complaints, statements of damages, applications for publication, guardian ad litem forms, etc.
• Schedule depositions, court hearings, and other meetings
• Assemble exhibits, prepare trial binders, witness books, and other trial documents
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bilingual Spanish fluency
• Experience in a Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Firm
• Paralegal certificate
• Strong knowledge of California Civil Procedure and Local Court Rules
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to compose correspondence with a strong command of spelling, grammar, punctuation, form, and style
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365
• Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy and quality are paramount
• Superior time management and multi-tasking skills
• Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, team player, tact under pressure, and a healthy dose of sense of humor
