The purpose of this position is to safely perform and assist in building maintenance and event operations for the Small Livestock (Sheep, Poultry or Pig & Goat) sections of the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show. The Sydney Royal Easter Show is the largest annual ticketed event staged in the Southern Hemisphere and we are currently looking for Pavilion Labourers to join the team for a short period of time.
You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of duties including, but not limited to:
Monitor animal husbandry in the Pavilion
Liaising with all relevant exhibitors
Assist with pavilion set-up
Provide assistance to the relevant RAS Staff, Committee and Officials when required
Assist with the bump in and bump out of exhibits
Operation of building services, plant and equipment as necessary.
Prepare pens for Exhibitor Arrival
Aid in crowd management and patron liaison
Opening and Closing of Pavilions
Other duties as may reasonably be given
This role is a short-term casual role during April 2026 and will require you to work the 2026
Sydney Royal Easter Show period (2 to 13 April 2026).
The hours for this role will be as rostered, with a significant level of flexibility required during the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Weekend work is essential for this role and additional hours may be necessary based on demand.
In this role, no two days are the same and require you to be quick on your feet and manage
multiple tasks at once. Flexibility and availability during the Show period is paramount in this
role!
Desirable qualifications, experience and skills:
Australian Forklift License
Experience with animal husbandry and handling
Able to communicate effectively
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work long hours and to tight deadlines
Flexibility
WHS training
Event experience
Working with children check (required)
Experience
Experience in event building set-up
Experience working with Poultry
Prior Sydney Royal Easter Show experience (desirable)
