Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Load Builder/Yard Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently building loads, managing materials, and maintaining a safe and organized yard environment. Your energetic approach will ensure timely shipment preparation, accurate order fulfillment, and smooth warehouse operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment, enhance your warehouse skills, and contribute to our fast-paced distribution process. In this role from time to time you may also make deliveries utilizing a non cdl required truck.
Duties
Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials.
Build and secure loads using proper techniques to ensure safety during transit.
Assist with order picking using various equipment such as order pickers and pickers for accurate inventory fulfillment.
Maintain a clean, organized yard by sorting materials and ensuring clear pathways for equipment movement.
Conduct routine equipment repairs or report mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Support warehouse management by tracking inventory movements within the warehouse management system (WMS).
Follow OSHA safety standards and company policies during all operations to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
Proven experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting.
Ability to lift heavy loads repeatedly and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting.
Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately.
Prior warehouse experience with shipping & receiving, materials handling, and heavy equipment operation preferred.
