A Logistics Coordinator manages the movement of goods from suppliers to customers, ensuring deliveries are on time, cost-effective, and properly tracked.
Key Responsibilities
Shipment Coordination
Arrange and schedule transport (air, sea, road)
Book shipments with carriers and freight forwarders
Prepare shipping instructions
Tracking & Monitoring
Track shipments and update delivery status
Handle delays, damages, or lost shipments
Ensure timely delivery to warehouses or customers
Documentation
Prepare and manage documents such as:
Invoices
Packing lists
Bills of lading
Customs paperwork
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination
Work with warehouse teams to manage stock levels
Coordinate incoming and outgoing goods
Ensure proper storage and handling
Supplier & Carrier Communication
Communicate with:
Suppliers
Transport companies
Customs brokers
Negotiate basic shipping rates (in some roles)
Cost Control
Monitor shipping costs and budgets
Look for cost-saving logistics solutions
Required Skills
Technical Skills
Knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes
Experience with ERP systems (like SAP ERP or Oracle NetSuite)
Microsoft Excel and data tracking
Understanding of import/export regulations

Qualifications
Degree or diploma in:
Supply Chain Management
Logistics
Business Administration or related field.
