Responsibilities
Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks across long-distance routes.
Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
Plan and follow optimal routes to ensure on-time deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are met.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle condition in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road.
Handle special cargo such as refrigerated goods or hazardous materials (if qualified) with care and adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on long-haul routes; delivery driver experience is highly valued.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission operation and specific cargo types such as tankers or refrigerated trailers.
Demonstrated ability to operate various truck types including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
Skilled in load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment when applicable.
Strong knowledge of route planning, traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance routines.
Ability to drive for extended periods while maintaining alertness and professionalism.
