Job Summary
The Loss Prevention Associate plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s assets and minimizing loss due to theft. This role includes patrolling the store aisles, monitoring customers, watching security camera footage and responding to suspected incidents of theft. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of loss prevention techniques.
Responsibilities
Monitor all areas of the property for external and internal theft, unusual activity, and/or potential security threats.
Monitor security systems such as alarms and closed-circuit cameras.
Identify, document and report all internal/external theft.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations of theft or fraud incidents.
Analyze data from surveillance systems to identify patterns and prevent future losses.
Ensure trespass documentation is completed and recorded.
Assist with the development and/or implementation of security policies.
Prepare reports on loss prevention activities, incidents, and outcomes for management review.
Respond to incidents of theft or suspicious activity in a timely manner.
Follow loss prevention policies and procedures to reduce theft and fraud.
Assist with day to day operations based on business levels and needs.
Requirements
Experience in loss prevention techniques and processes.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent conflict resolution capabilities.
Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours.
Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays).
Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make difficult decisions.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Strong communication skills to interact with staff, management, and law enforcement.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Please note the position is both indoors and outdoors, candidate must be comfortable working in various weather conditions. The schedule for the position is Tuesday-Saturday 11:00pm-8:00pm.
