A Retail Security Guard will act as the first-line representative to all staff, customers, and clients. A major part of the role involves deterring and protecting the retail brand and staff.

Duties:

Responsible for the protection of people, property, facilities, and information
Maintain surveillance of surrounding area and report suspicious activity
Strong ability to de-escalate situations and be able to handle individuals that need to be removed from the property
Perform detailed and diligent patrols
Ability to handle emergency alarms in a quick manner (e.g., Fire Alarms, etc)
Observe and report daily activities and irregularities to appropriate personnel
Ensure that all safety and emergency procedures are followed
Work with local police service
Monitor CCTV Cameras
Draft reports
Skills Required:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while being alert and detail oriented
Ability to exercise vigilance and multitask is required (Ability to prioritize, remain calm and multi-task under pressure in a dynamic environment)
Ability to de-escalate
Proficient in using technology
Experience in proper search techniques
Ability to effectively generate all relevant shift reports and distribute in a timely manner
Must be able to speak, read and write in English
The Ideal Candidate:

Must hold and maintain valid applicable Security Guard License and First Aid & CPR Certification
Minimum of 1-year full time Security Guard (Loss Prevention) experience
Physical presence suitable to work independently
Knowledge of the trespass to property act and Criminal Code Sec. 4+4
Crisis management / Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification is preferred
