Job Description
We are currently seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist based out of our Head Office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The Loss Prevention Specialist is keenly observant, driven, and motivated with a safety mindset. In addition to liaising with Health, Safety, Environment & Training (HSET) in investigating incidents, as well as conducting internal and external investigations and audits, the Loss Prevention Specialist will also recommend preventative and corrective action items.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Maintain security systems, surveillance cameras, and all forms of monitoring access to control and deter theft.
Enforce compliance with all HPL policies and procedures.
Monitor and observe job sites to ensure safety of property.
Liaise regularly with all levels of management, supervisors, and crews to educate and inform of best practices to deter theft.
Liaise with HSET to conduct investigations, as well as audits to identify potentially compromised inventory on an internal basis.
Liaise with all levels of law enforcement.
Maintain documentation and case management related to all incidents of forcible entry and attempted theft.
Managing fuel usage including reviewing and monitoring fuel reports, communication with fuel suppliers, as well as managing the inventory of fuel cards.
Managing GPS fobs and identify unusual patterns.
Assisting Fleet with parts pickup and delivery, and other tasks as required.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Must be a permanent resident of Canada.
Criminal record check is required.
Previous Canadian law enforcement and/or Canadian corrections experience would be considered an asset.
High School Diploma, or equivalent, is required.
Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, is required.
Knowledge of provincial and federal Human Rights Codes and Regulations.
Knowledge of provincial Occupational Health & Safety Acts and Regulations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Strong computer skills including MS Office365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related platforms.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
Ability to work with direction and guidance from multiple sources.
Ability to instruct and mentor others, using prominent facilitation skills and a good understanding of adult learning principles.
Working Conditions
Combination of indoor office and field work
Extended working hours on occasion, including evenings and weekend work.
This position is considered a safety sensitive position; all new hires will be required to complete a pre-employment medical evaluation that includes a drug and ******* screening.
