Job Description
The Lower School Assistant Teacher will assist in the daily program under the direction of the teacher.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up centers and preparing needed materials and supplies for students’ daily activities.
Work individually or in small groups with students to review classroom instruction, listens to reading groups, or assists answering questions.
Thoughtfully integrate instructional technology—including emerging AI tools—into planning, collaboration, differentiation, and assessment, in alignment with the school’s educational philosophy.
Supervise outside playground activities.
Helps with general housekeeping tasks.
Assists the teacher in any other appropriate way.
Attend weekly meetings if applicable
Attend work a maximum of eight working days prior to the commencement of classes and two administrative days following the conclusion of the spring semester of the school year
Maintain student and family confidentially both on and off campus.
Performs other duties as may be deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the department.
It is essential for the Employee to arrive on time to work every scheduled work day. It is essential for the Employee to maintain good attendance and give ample notice, when possible, when Employee will be absent. It is essential for Employee to speak to co-workers with respect and to follow all of the requirements and expectations in the Employee Handbook.

Qualifications
The Lower School Assistant Teacher must have an Associate's degree or higher. Experience working with children. Organized, capable, and able to multitask. Salary based on experience.
