Job Description
Long Plain First Nation is recruiting candidates for the Safety Officer Training Program. Successful applicants will be prepared to support institutional and community safety operations across multiple urban locations in Manitoba. The program emphasizes professionalism, teamwork, and an understanding of the legislative and regulatory frameworks governing the care and protection of individuals in custody.
As a Safety Officer in an institutional setting, you will be trained to operate within a layered security model, working in coordination with Institutional Safety Officers (ISOs) and other community safety partners to support safe, structured, and professional operations
Qualifications
Must pass a Child Abuse Registry check, Vulnerable Sector & Criminal Record Check
Grade 12 or GED
Experience in security, social work, or military is a significant asset
Strong communication skills and a commitment to Indigenous led safety solutions
Valid Class 5 Drivers licence
