Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm
JOB DESCRIPTION
The LVN will be assigned regularly to fill the Charge Nurse positions for 2pm-10pm, Monday thru Friday shifts in the facility, and supervise direct patient care personnel in the nursing unit. The LVN reports to the Director of Nursing (DON)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Will be a LVN who is a graduate of an approved school, and currently licensed by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. It is desirable that the LVN be trained or experienced in areas of supervision, rehabilitative, psychiatric, or geriatric nursing.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Present a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
2. Demonstrate willingness to resolve problems and supervise.
3. Demonstrate ability to make intelligent nursing decisions and follow through.
4. Possess the ability to deal with difficult people.
5. Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
DUTIES:

The primary purpose of the LVN Charge Nurse position is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed be nursing assistants to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Recognize significant changes in the conditions of patients and take necessary intervention.
Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
