Machine Learning Software Engineer

Insight Embedded AI team is an international team which develops machine learning (ML) and data science-based applications for wealth management and banking. Our solutions are integrated into various Avaloq products and serve diverse types of users.
Our mission is to empower financial institutions to deliver personalized services to their customers and make wealth advisors more efficient in serving client requests, identifying important news etc.
We are seeking a talented ML engineer with a passion for innovative technologies and a background in both machine learning and software engineering.

Your mission:
• Design and implement ML based solutions using state of the art models
• Deploy and manage ML models in production using Kubernetes and DevOps best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects from ideation to deployment
• Produce high quality, maintainable and efficient code
• Participate in system design decisions to improve performance and scalability of products
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and advancements in ML and software engineering
• Write documentation of implementation
• Ensure code adheres to security standards
Qualifications

Your expertise:
• University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent analytical, coding, and debugging skills
• Curiosity to learn and solve challenging problems
• Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Strong background in statistics
• Using and deploying ML models in AWS / Azure / GCP
• Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch etc.
• Streaming platforms and message queues (e.g. Kafka)
• Microservices, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• SQL, Oracle, Postgres
• Elasticsearch, OpenSearch

You will get extra points for the following:
• Deep learning and predictive analytics
• Backend development skills in Java
• Familiarity with CICD Platforms (e.g. Jenkins, Travis) and Ansible
