Job Description:

We are looking for a Machinist Technician to join our growing team and support our fast-paced, high-volume, made-to-order Sprocket Manufacturer in the beautiful South Slocan, BC. We offer a relaxed and human-centric and inclusive environment where our team members are encouraged to be themselves and learn in a safe atmosphere.


Key Responsibilities:

Operate manual and CNC machining equipment proficiently, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
Independently set up machines, load materials, and ensure optimal performance throughout machining processes.
Read and interpret production orders, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
Precisely measure and mark materials according to specifications. Utilize machine tools to cut, shape, and assemble steel and other metals with a high degree of accuracy.
Perform finishing and deburring operations on machined parts to meet quality standards.
Conduct thorough inspections of final products to ensure conformance to quality specifications.
Assist in loading and unloading raw materials as required for machining operations.
Participate in machinery maintenance activities when necessary to uphold operational efficiency.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the work area in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Support shipping and receiving activities as needed to facilitate the flow of materials and products.
Collaborate closely with team members to identify and implement process improvements for optimizing machining processes.
Demonstrate unwavering commitment to quality, precision, and attention to detail in all tasks performed.

Qualifications:

Solid understanding of machining principles and manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on proficiency.
Ability to effectively follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills.
Working knowledge of machining tools and equipment.
Prior experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment, preferred.
Ability to work on your feet for 10-hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off rotation.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
