Skills and competencies
• Performing system health checks.
• Perform IPL on all the LPARs during maintenance window and troubleshooting during the IPL.
• Replying to WTOR's referring to process documents,
• Handling the hardware related issues, raising the service request with the h/w provider.
• Perform IPL on all the LPARs during maintenance window and troubleshooting during the IPL.
• Handling resource contentions and taking actions for alerts on production system.
• Performing DR Tests.
• Attending daily calls and change meetings.
• Enabling the Transactions through automation and commands as well.
• Knowledge of HMC tool.
• Investigation of long running jobs.
• Changing the Priorities and the Service Classes of the Regions/job if required
• Monitoring batch jobs and scheduling using TWS-OPC and AJS scheduler.
• Interacting with the clients and different teams on daily basis.
• Coordinating with application team for any issues during the batch cycles for applications.
• Creating new application, jobs and scheduling them.
• Resolution of abends: restart, mark complete, cancel jobs, analyzing late jobs, etc through OPC scheduler.
• Making sure that the issues are resolved within the SLA.
• Participating in bridge calls and meetings and discussions regarding implementations and changes.
• Preparing reports and documents.
• Adhoc request to Schedule particular jobs, applications and periods in OPC.
• Taking care of each production batch job abends by following operator instructions and escalating to appropriate support group if required.
• Providing immediate Fixes and submitting the jobs.
Primary skills (must have) :
• Complete knowledge on Mainframe infrastructure which involves console and batch operations skills.
• 2+ years of experience in handling an international customer environment with hands on knowledge on IPL, Console hardware alerts, CICS, MQ, DB 2 related alerts and procedures.
Optional (nice to have)
• In depth knowledge of CICSPLEX.
• Hands on knowledge on capacity monitoring tools.
• Expertise in Omegamon and RMF.
• Any other programming knowledge with an aim to restructure the bank.
• Knowledge in REXX and Python
