Job Title - Mainframe Developer
Location-Pune
Experience- 4 to 7 Years
Key responsibilities:
• Design, develop, modify, debug and/or maintain software code according to functional, non-functional and technical design specifications in Agile/Waterfall
• Understand High Level Design, Application Interface Design & build Low Level Design as per specifications. Perform application analysis & propose technical solution for application enhancement or resolve production issues
• Investigate issues by reviewing/debugging code, provides fixes and workarounds, and reviews changes for operability to maintain existing software solutions.
• Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high-availability and performance
• Perform Development & Deployment. Should be able to write well designed, testable, efficient Code, Unit Test & Deploy
• Creation necessary documentation for all project deliverable phases
• Handle Production Issues (Tier 2 Support, weekend on-call rotation) to resolve production issues & ensure SLAs are met
Technical Skills: Main Skill – Mainframe
• Mandatory
o Mandatory and Hands on experience in Mainframe Programming – COBOL, JCL, DB2, System Utilizes like SORT, FILEAID etc. REXX, SAS scripting tools
o Very strong in SQL, PL/SQL & hands on DB2, Snowflake, Teradata or Oracle
o Knowledge of Schedulers (ESP preferred)
o Knowledge of basic Unix/Linux and scripting
o Transfer mechanisms – Connect Direct, sFTP, etc
• Good to have
o Hands on experience on Non-Mainframe areas
o Linux, Unix & advance scripting
o Snowflake, Teradata, Vertica
o Bigdata/Cloud knowledge or fundamental concepts
o Telecom/Datawarehouse domain knowledge
Behavioral skills:
• Curious, Eagerness & Hunger & open to learn in Technologies not worked upon in the past
• Good problem solving & decision-making skills
• Good communication skills within the team, site and with the customer
• Ability to stretch respective working hours when necessary, to support business needs
• Ability to work independently and drive issues to closure
• Consult when necessary with relevant parties, raise timely risks
• Effectively handle multiple and complex work assignments, while consistently deliver high quality work
