Join our team as a Maintenance Crew Member – Southern Moreton Bay Islands
Are you someone who enjoys hands‑on work, fresh air, and the satisfaction of helping island communities thrive? Redland City Council is seeking a reliable, motivated Maintenance Crew Member to join our team and work across all of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.
In this permanent role, you’ll take on a wide variety of tasks that keep our island environments safe, functional, and looking their best. Your work may include maintaining civil and marine infrastructure, managing vegetation, and supporting day‑to‑day operational needs - meaning no two days will ever feel the same.

Your responsibilities will include:
Road repairs and maintenance activities
Pothole patching, resurfacing, and sealing works
Vegetation and drainage maintenance
Working alongside traffic controllers to ensure effective onsite safety management
Operating small plant, tools, and equipment
Assisting with general labouring duties as required
Concreting
Following Council's Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Protection requirements
Be an active part of a cooperative, supportive, productive team
Skills and experience:
Previous experience in civil construction, roadworks or labouring
Demonstrated ability and physical fitness to safely perform a variety of strenuous manual labour tasks for extended periods
Correctly apply, use and maintain a broad range of plant, tools and equipment
Ability to work safely as part of a team
Current C class driver's licence (MR desirable)
White Card (Construction induction)
Traffic Awareness training or willing to obtain within the first 6 months.

Eligibility:
Level 4
You'll hold a current C Class drivers licence
Ability to participate in the after-hours on-call roster, including remote response and site-related operations over weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis.

To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
Level 5 (in addition to the Level 4 criteria above)
Minimum 3 years' experience in the relevant field
MR Licence & plant operator tickets or HR licence
Certificate II in Civil Construction or equivalant
