Job Description
Spark Management is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Houston, TX, to ensure the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of our hotel’s facilities. This role requires a proactive individual who can address repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure guests experience a comfortable and well-maintained environment.
Responsibilities:
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances.
• Address guest room repair requests promptly to maintain a high standard of comfort.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and technical issues throughout the property.
• Implement a schedule of preventative maintenance for recruitment, rooms, and common areas.
• Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
• Maintain the interior and exterior appearance of the property, including landscaping, pool maintenance, sprinkler systems, and lighting.
• Ensure all common areas and guest facilities are in optimal condition.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and local building codes.
• Respond to emergency situations such as power outages, leaks, equipment failures, etc.
• Maintain fire safety equipment and ensure emergency systems are operational.
• Work with external contractors for specialized repairs or larger projects.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure quality standards are met.
• Trash disposal and transportation to the main property dumpster.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of building maintenance experience preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Ability to operate various hand tools, including power tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Position Type:This is a full-time position located in Houston, TX. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7.30 a.m. through 3 p.m. EST. Some overtime may be required, including “on-call” and/or rotating “on-call” responsibilities.
Compensation:Hourly Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour dependent upon experience.
