PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a work environment which is clean and safe which will ensure the facility’s production equipment is fully operational at all times, and Taiyo can manufacture quality products without any issues. Additional responsibilities will include general maintenance and repairs for facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment.
• Uses tools in workshop to repair equipment and parts if possible.
• Assist operations employees in inspecting and identifying equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Assist operations employees in troubleshooting issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Assist in maintaining equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
OTHER DUTIES:
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or appropriate academic skills.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance, technical understanding, power tools, electrical systems and basic safety.
• Ability to deal with uncertainty and work under pressure.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and flexibility.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Occasional weekend or overtime work.
• Manufacturing plant environment.
SAFETY HAZARDS:
• Moving mechanical parts.
• Fumes / airborne particles.
• Extreme heat.
• Risk of electrical shock and vibration.
• Loud noise level.
May work with or be in the vicinity of epoxy/acrylate resins and organic solvents.
