Job Description
Duties and responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all plant equipment along with electrical distribution systems based on blueprints and diagrams.
Inspect equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Install, repair, and calibrate instruments, control valves, actuators, and positioners, install control systems for rebuilds or new systems, Install electrical control panels and wire raceways.
Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic control systems and adjustable frequency AC and DC motor drives.
Determine whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous, communicate potential mechanical hazards on equipment to supervisors and operators.
Assign work orders to employees or external contractors, ensuring clarity and prioritization.
Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly, diagnose issues, and assign repairs to technicians.
Oversee the quality of repairs and ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
Ensure that any safety related work orders are given a top priority in operations, ensuring adherence to Provincial and Federal regulations as well as company policy and procedures.
Identify areas for improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance.
Lead and motivate a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks based on skills and workload.
Provide technical guidance and support to technicians.
Manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure operational function of facility.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Experience
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or certificate/license in related trade preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, handles multiple tasks, and performs duties with a sense of urgency.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, food safety, and quality assurance principles.
Problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadliness.
