Job Description
About The Zetter
The Zetter is a quiet celebration of ******** spaces, timeless imperfection, and unapologetic British eccentricity. With our collection of boutique hotels, townhouses, and parlours nestled in London’s most characterful neighbourhoods, we offer more than a stay — we curate experiences brimming with thoughtful details, curated charm, and stories layered into every corner.
At The Zetter, every chipped tile and carefully lit corridor is part of our story. That’s why we’re looking for a Maintenance Manager who understands that behind every charming façade is an even more considered operation — and someone needs to keep it running beautifully.
The Role
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll ensure our spaces remain as charming behind the scenes as they are in the spotlight. You’ll lead a dedicated team in preserving, repairing, and enhancing every nook and cranny of our buildings — all while creating safe, welcoming environments for our guests and team.
From overseeing daily fixes to championing long-term improvements, this role requires both technical expertise and a true appreciation for heritage, hospitality, and heart.
Your day-to-day might include:
· Leading and inspiring a skilled team of in-house maintenance professionals
· Conducting regular inspections to spot small issues before they become big ones
· Overseeing everything from plumbing quirks to HVAC whispers — with care and efficiency
· Collaborating closely with other departments to keep operations seamless and safe
· Managing external contractors for specialist work while ensuring quality and compliance
· Developing and delivering preventative maintenance plans that extend the life of our assets
· Keeping meticulous records and reports — every screw, socket, and schedule
· Shaping and managing the maintenance budget with an eye on both excellence and economy
· Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations — no exceptions, only high standards
· Helping us preserve the character and charm of our properties while modernising with intention
· Please note: This list is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the smooth operation of our properties.
You Are:
· An experienced Maintenance Manager with a background in hospitality or boutique environments
· Calm under pressure, methodical in your approach, and always ready with a solution
· Technically adept across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building systems
· A natural leader who enjoys developing a team and fostering pride in craftsmanship
· Comfortable managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and optimising resources
· Well-versed in safety regulations and compliance — with the records to prove it
· Organised, dependable, and quietly confident in your ability to keep things running smoothly
· Someone who sees beauty in old buildings and knows how to care for them
What Awaits You at The Zetter
· A workplace as characterful and carefully curated as our spaces
· The opportunity to leave a lasting mark on some of London’s most beloved boutique hotels
· Discounted Food & Drink in all Zetter Lounges
· Friends & Family Hotel Rates – 50% off for your favourite people
· Employee of the Month Rewards & Referral Bonuses up to £500
· A paid day off on your birthday
· A culture that values individuality, celebrates effort, and supports growth
