Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic in PEACHTREE CITY, GA in the steel and iron manufacturing environment.
The Maintenance Mechanic will repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
Essential Functions:
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine to changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
Experience/Skills:
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a mechanical/maintenance-related field.
• Demonstrated ability to perform electronic maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical maintenance.
This position will be Monday - Friday, 40/hrs per week + overtime.
Pay varies based on skills and experience.
