Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Outdoor Maintenance Person to help maintain the beautiful grounds, gardens, vineyards, and exterior spaces of Hessenland Inn & Schatz Winery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and attractive environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Landscaping & Groundskeeping:
Mow lawns, trim hedges, prune trees, weed gardens when required.
Maintain walking paths, driveways, patios, and vineyard rows.
Vineyard & Winery Grounds Support:
Assist with vineyard maintenance tasks such as tying, trimming, and harvesting (seasonal).
Facility Exterior Upkeep:
Clean outdoor furniture, patios, and recreational areas.
Perform minor repairs on outdoor structures, fencing, and signage.
Remove trash and debris from all outdoor areas.
Seasonal Duties:
Leaf raking and gutter cleaning in fall.
Holiday or event décor setup as needed.
Safety & Reporting:
Report damages, unsafe conditions, or repair needs to the maintenance team.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance.
Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers).
Comfort working in a variety of weather conditions.
Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Valid driver's license (preferred).
Working Conditions:
Primarily outdoors with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
Weekend or evening hours may be required, especially during peak seasons and events.
