Description
The Maintenance Planner will report to the Manager, Offgas Maintenance & Reliability. This position is responsible for improving work force productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating any potential delays through planning, scheduling and the coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials and equipment. This position is located out of the Pioneer 1 Liquid Extraction Plant located near Suncor Base Plant
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Determine parts, tools and equipment necessary to complete assigned planning work scopes between a variety of maintenance crafts but with a focus on Mechanical/Rotating Equipment and Electrical & Instrumentation scopes of work
Coordinate work management, planning and scheduling, execution in a consistent manner across the maintenance department
Coordinate onboarding and training of contractors for site activities
Coordinate with Maintenance & Operations personnel to prepare job plans containing the necessary details to allow the work to be properly scheduled / executed
Implement new preventative maintenance tasks based on new standards
Regular inspection of plant work locations to develop detailed plans
Organize service / materials purchase requisitions and item reservations for planned work
Identify gaps within the plant inventory and create requisitions for additions as needed
Maintain and continuously improve job plans and task lists
Maintain and continuously improve asset / spare part databases in Maximo
Turnaround / Shutdown planning & execution
Maintain essential records and files in associated databases
Prepare monthly asset reliability and compliance assessment reports
Review work order feedback to assess lessons learned for future work
Utilize Maximo to support the maintenance function for the purposes of records management and reporting
Communicate with Contractor resources directly on specific assigned work orders during planning and execution
Engage with reliability personnel on improvements, particularly when they are related to a proactive maintenance plan
Communicate with Integrity department to ensure facility equipment is maintained according to manufacturer’s recommendation and regulatory requirements
Facilitate regular planning / scheduling meetings including but not limited to Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Integrity, Environmental & Regulatory
Manage small / medium maintenance capital / expense AFE’s
Education, Skills and Experience
Trade Certified Journeyperson with a preference for Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Machinist, Electrical, Instrumentation, Pipefitting
Two to Five or more years of experience in a facility maintenance planning role
Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience is considered an asset (e.g. Maximo, SAP, etc.)
Strong mechanical, instrumentation and electrical aptitudes is considered an asset
Strong commitment to Health and Safety, Environmental and Regulatory compliance
A structured, logical approach with the ability to work well with intricacies
Ability to adapt to found work and assist where possible during emergencies
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to read and understand P&ID’s, Single line drawings, isometrics and GA drawings.
Comfortable with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Projects
Hours
Monday - Thursday, 4x10 shift
