The Maintenance Team forms part of the Capital Projects and Estates Management Team within the Property Division, which manages one of the largest built estates in the University sector.
Job Description:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a team providing mechanically biased support to academic, research, teaching, and administrative functions.
You will carry out reactive and planned maintenance and repairs to mechanical equipment and associated systems, ensuring all plant and equipment is fully operational and fit for purpose.
Carry out reactive and planned maintenance and repairs to mechanical equipment and associated systems.
Undertake proactive approaches to ensure all plant and equipment is fully operational and fit for purpose.
Complete administrative tasks by fulfilling work reports on the CAFM system Planon.
Maintain safe workplace practices and procedures in accordance with Health & Safety Legislation.
Undertake other duties as directed by the line manager or supervisor.

Requirements:
Gained a recognised apprenticeship and attained an appropriate NVQ level 3 in Mechanical discipline with knowledge of hot water systems, pumps, compressed air systems, chillers, AHU's etc.
Demonstrated ability to work within a busy multi-tasking team with a flexible approach to daily work and a proactive approach to resolving problems.
Excellent communication and customer care skills.
Understanding of Health & Safety, preferably IOSH trained.
Proficient in using MS Office products: Word, Teams, Outlook for e-mail, and calendar appointments.
Familiarity with Planon and use of tablet would be an advantage.
