We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman/Unit Renovation Technician to join our team in Manhattan, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and renovation tasks to ensure the smooth operation and improvement of residential properties. Your expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general renovations will be essential in maintaining and enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of our buildings.

Job Responsibilities:

General Repairs & Maintenance:

Diagnose and fix issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and structural components.
Repair or replace damaged fixtures, doors, and hardware.
Patch holes, paint walls, and perform drywall repairs.
Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and perform preventive tasks.
Carpentry & Renovations:

Construct, install, or repair cabinets, shelves, and other wooden structures.
Install baseboards, trim, and replace damaged woodwork.
Installation of drywall, subfloors, and various flooring types (tile, linoleum, vinyl).
Electrical & Plumbing:

Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform basic wiring repairs.
Install light fixtures, switches, and outlets, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Address plumbing issues, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining plumbing fixtures.
Customer Service:

Communicate effectively with property owners, tenants, and management.
Provide excellent customer service, responding promptly to inquiries and service calls.
Keep management updated on the status of open work orders and close tickets in a timely manner.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.
Ability to multitask and complete jobs within specific timeframes.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and without supervision.
Strong communication skills (oral and written); is a plus.
Must own tools to complete day-to-day work orders.
A valid driver’s license and a reliable cell phone are required.
Must be willing to be on-call for emergencies outside of business hours.
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
