Description

Located out of our Cochrane Extraction Plant (CEP), the individual in the Maintenance Technician role will report to the Supervisor, Maintenance. The maintenance technician is a key front-line role at the CEP responsible for the day to day support for plant assets. This technical support will align with the company’s strategic plan and any additional activities associated with the plan. More specifically the maintenance technician is accountable for the safe, reliable, compliant and cost-effective maintenance of plant infrastructure with a focus on valving. The maintenance technician will be part of a high performing, well established and knowledgeable maintenance department.

The Cochrane Extraction Plant (CEP), is a key part of Canada’s NGL infrastructure. The plant is conveniently located just north of the town of Cochrane and within a short drive of both Calgary and the Rocky Mountains.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

Conduct predictive, preventative and corrective regular maintenance on plant equipment and systems

Maintain accurate work history for equipment

Order parts and open/close work orders in CMMS

Supervise on site contractors as necessary utilizing the work initiation process and contractor management process

Maintain all discipline related records and documentation

Provide technical leadership and project management for smaller projects as required

Ensure engineered changes are effectively integrated into existing systems per Management of Change guidelines

Ensure all tools and testing equipment are maintained and calibrated

Develop and implement maintenance plans & procedures where required.

Ensure all work procedures and equipment settings adhere to manufacturer and engineering design specifications.

The role is responsible for creating and sustaining safe work practices, improving reliability and reducing costs.

Provide troubleshooting and problem solving with specific attention to risk awareness in terms of safety, quality and plant production

Perform compliance verifications on plant equipment to support the safe and efficient operation of the plant as well as custody transfer of feedstock and utilities

Valve Maintenance Highlights:

Understanding operating principles, design, and function of the most common block-type valves

The operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hand and power operated valve lubricants

Knowledge and experience with setting up and implementing valve preventative maintenance programs

Knowledge of valve sealants, injection processes, fittings and systems

Understanding of typical valve corrosion issues

Proficiency in maintenance and servicing of a variety of valves
