Job Overview
Reporting to the Vice-President and General Manger, as the Maintenance Technician you will ensure the maintenance needs assigned to properties are met in an effective and efficient manner.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Completing thorough daily inspections of properties, and addressing repairs or concerns in a timely manner.
Handling tenant requests, including proper follow-up and maintenance checklists.
Performing general and preventative maintenance on interior and exterior of assigned properties. Conducting minor carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs.
Overseeing and assisting external contractors on site as required.
Ensuring property appearance is maintained to a high standard, including emptying litter receptacles and ashtrays, and removing snow or ice as required.
Providing on-call support in case of emergencies.

Essential Requirements
High school diploma, or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of related maintenance experience, preferably in commercial building operations.
Class 5 driver’s licence and satisfactory verification of drivers abstract.
Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable using tools and equipment.

You primarily work on site during regular business hours. Evenings and/or weekends may occasionally be required as emergencies may arise. Must have the flexibility to work on call and after hours on a rotating schedule. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required
