About the role
You’ll be supporting a 12‑year‑old boy with Autism and ARFID (restricted eating). He has a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan, so there are some behaviours to understand and manage – we’ll train and support you with this.
What you’ll be doing (examples):
Hanging out and gaming together (his main interest)
Supporting him to follow his PBS strategies when he’s upset or anxious
Encouraging safe routines around meals and snacks (ARFID awareness)
Providing respite for the family by being reliable, kind and engaged
Shift details
When: Fridays, 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm (ongoing)
Where: Aldinga area
Extra hours: Additional respite / support sessions may be offered over time if it’s a good fit
Pay: Competitive NDIS support worker rate, depending on experience and quals (discussed at interview)
You are likely a good fit if:
You are male (family preference for this role)
Have experience as a support worker
You genuinely enjoy gaming and can talk his language
You stay calm under pressure and are not easily overwhelmed
You can commit reliably to Friday afternoons in Aldinga
You are comfortable following a PBS plan and taking feedback from the clinical / family team

NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check (SA)
Current First Aid & CPR
Experience with autism, behaviours of concern, or similar is ideal (but we will consider the right attitude and fit)
