Prior experience working with online startups is essential for this role - this is a remote role
We are searching for a Management Accountant who will manage the end-to-end accounting and reporting processes. You will provide accurate and data-based information on the company’s accounts and financial statements. You will have sound knowledge of IFRS (ideally GAAP as well) and should be able to manage all financial reporting requirements.
The Management Accountant at Nexford will be the main person responsible for closing and consolidating financial statements, taking into account the company’s goals and financial standing, and Providing detailed analysis and reports to management on an ongoing basis.
The successful candidate will be assertive, organized, professional, highly analytical, and capable of solving problems. They also are likely to need to demonstrate patience and resilience and be calm under pressure.
Job Responsibilities
In charge of monthly financial reports
Manage cash flow planning with strict adherence to budget and target burn.
Manage vendors and timely payment of all critical partners.
Assists in performing monthly reconciliations in general ledger, banks and invoices
Works on process improvements by leveraging technology
Produces monthly reports, internal management decks and presentations with cross-functional collaboration across departments
Works with external accountants to ensure that we report bookings on a monthly basis and record revenue accurately
Makes recommendations to improve the efficiency of processes and effectiveness of controls
Helps the accounting team by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions
Required Skills and Qualities
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and high Tech literacy
Knowledge of Xero or similar accounting software is a significant plus
Excellent command of the English language is a must
Strong business sense, can-do attitude, high level of integrity, commitment, work ethic and values
Knowledge of financial planning principles and strategy, and highly analytical and data storytelling skills
Outstanding presentation, reporting and time-management skills
Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, and information analysis
Required Education and Experience
Professional Qualification (Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in a finance or business-related field of study
Excellent communication skills and email etiquette to address client concerns
Has 3 to 5 years’ experience in credit control and accounts receivables
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in a global, virtual setting
