Main Responsibilities/Main Tasks
Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insights to support business performance.
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial integrity.
Manage the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
Prepare and review accruals, prepayments, and other key journals.
Coordinate the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
Support statutory reporting and year-end audit processes.
Ensure compliance with VAT, Intrastat, and EC Sales reporting requirements.
Provide financial guidance and support for department managers and senior leadership.
Supervise and mentor the Assistant Management Accountant.
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems (e.g., SAP).
Support purchase ledger and sales ledger functions as needed.
Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as may be directed by the line manager .
Fully qualified accountant (AAT Level 4), working towards ACCA or CIMA is desirable.
Previous experience in management accounting role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (preferably SAP).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
