Job Description
We are looking for an Management Accountant to join our expanding team based in Swadlincote. The ideal candidate will support with financial reports, budgeting, and forecasting. Working closely with the senior finance team this is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate looking to gain additional exposure to month end management accounts.
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 08:30am to 5pm (some flexibility will be needed on working hours depending on business need) offering a competitive salary, package with the opportunity to work for a forward thinking market leader.
Job Purpose
As a Management Accountant, you will be producing the management accounts and commentary for key areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare the financial reporting of central overhead cost centres, both profit and loss and balance sheet reporting
Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain up-to-date financial records.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets.
Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties such as managing the central mailbox and responding to queries from the wider business
Qualifications
Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA or ACA
Minimum of 2 years experience of management / financial accounting
Strong Excel skills with the ability to create and develop spreadsheets using functions (pivot tables, lookups etc.) or macros to automate and improve accounting
Ability to proactively identify and implement process improvements
Strong knowledge of accounting regulations, procedures and current legislation
Strong attention to detail and ability to review and spot errors / queries
Continuous improvement mentality – with the ability to identify and implement at pace process improvements (improving control / efficiency / insight)
Adaptable and flexible in approach to work
Team player with the desire to work with and challenge appropriately finance and operational colleagues
Analytical skills with the ability to make judgements from data and then work with the business through to conclusion
Proficiency in Word and Powerpoint
