Job Type: Permanent, Office-based, option to work one day per week remote.

Salary: £35K p.a.

We operate from our Ashbourne head office and are supported by a small, friendly, and dedicated finance team. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a capable and hands-on Management Accountant to support financial operations and drive improvements in reporting and analysis.

The Role:

This is a critical position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can "hit the ground running". You will take ownership of key accounting functions, support month-end processes, and produce financial insights that help guide the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts

Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations

Maintain the fixed asset register

Post journals including accruals and prepayments

Assist in preparation for year-end

Responsible for preparing and submitting group VAT returns and the management of import VAT and customs duty processes including PVA and duty deferment arrangements

Process monthly payroll ensuring full compliance with HMRC, pension auto-enrolment requirements and statutory obligations and the calculation of holiday entitlement for salaried, zero-hours and mixed contract types

Prepare and submit P11D forms to HMRC for employee benefits and expenses, ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines

Oversee supplier payments and manage cash flow

Assist in budgeting and forecasting

Cost centre analysis

Intercompany reconciliations

Support other ad-hoc finance tasks as required

Liaise with internal departments and senior management to provide financial analysis

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Senior Accounts Assistant role

Strong understanding of double-entry accounting, reconciliations, journals, and month-end close

Confident Excel user (pivot tables, lookups)

Organised, efficient, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills

Able to work independently and take initiative in a small team environment

Desirable:

AAT qualified or equivalent (or QBE)

Experience with QuickBooks (an advantage but not essential)

Retail or multi-entity experience an advantage

Familiarity with Xero, Sage 50, or other accounting packages
