THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this role will support key stakeholders with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and month end duties, including monthly management accounts, operating and/or capital reporting, performance analytics. Responsibilities also include cost driver analysis, dashboard reporting, and preparing data for presentations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Completing the month end process which includes sourcing data, preparing and posting journals.
Maintaining various reconciliation models, whilst ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
Preparing accurate monthly management accounts for operations including various calculations, variance analysis and meaningful commentary.
Responding to financial queries, providing valuable insights and appropriate information.
Building and maintaining partnerships across the business to facilitate the management reporting and budgeting/forecasting process.
Assisting with statutory financial reports and maintaining accuracy of the financial information.
Assisting the external auditors during audit periods.
Providing support with analytical reporting models, forecasting, budgeting tools and internal presentations.
Demonstrating an owner’s mindset delivering strong customer service to all stakeholders.
Continuously develop and improve systems, processes, and procedures to deliver a more effective service.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our beautiful West Perth office, near the City West train station.
ABOUT YOU:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or/and Finance essential, with CA/CPA qualification highly regarded
Experience in a Big 4, or mid-tier accounting firm with exposure to the mining sector along with a sound knowledge of accounting standards (AASB/IFRS)
Experience in preparing management reporting and analysis
Excellent time management with an ability to priorities and plans tasks effectively, whilst ensuring strong communication with team leader on key updates.
Self-driven approach with an inquisitive mindset who strives to understand the ‘why’ we do things and takes initiative and making decisions
Strong attention to detail in assessing whether the financial information is accurate and aligns to business drivers
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to interact and engage with stakeholders across the business
Excellent skills in MS Excel and Word and other accounting systems
ERP experience – Pronto is desirable
Strong interpersonal skills
Adoption of new technologies, such as AI, to drive efficiency
