Job Description
Job Purpose: To be responsible for Managing accounts, finance, audit and taxation functions
Reports to : CFO
Finance, Accounts & Internal Control:
Handling full fledged accounting and finance system including Rules related thereto in
accordance with business needs considering relevant statutes applicable as to its
implementation and day to day recording of financial transactions with a view to provide
data needed for policy decision making at various management levels.
Ensuring maintenance of statutory books of accounts viz, journal, ledger and subsidiaries
in compliance with time & accounting norms.
Developing direction in the training of junior staff members and providing the necessary
leadership of the annual review meeting at national/international units.
Reviewing the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information as well as
the means used to identify measure, classify and report such information. Advising within
the audit report recommendations to solve problems or deficiencies, which will make
significant improvements in efficiency and the bottom line.
Evaluating the routines established to safeguard the Company's assets, and as
appropriate, verifying the existence and efficiency of such assets.
Presenting a true and fair view of the financial position of the company by preparing
financial statements viz, accounting schedules and schedules six requirements.
Treasury & Fund management :
Conducting variance analysis to determine difference between projected figures & actual
expenditure and recommending/ taking corrective actions.
Monitoring Cash flow on the operations of the company to review the cash position and
forecast funds required for numerous expenses.
Taking adequate measures to ensure timely receipt of payments.
Taking adequate measures to monitor the inflow/ outflow of funds, ensuring optimum
utilization of available funds towards the accomplishment of available funds.
Liaising and negotiating with banks & financial institutions for raising fund and nonfund
based facilities at favorable terms to meet working capital requirements.
Ensuring fulfillment of all requisite formalities, preparation of papers/ documents for
effective funding, overdraft facilities, bank guarantee & loans.
Taxation & Liaison:
Liaising with various government departments, ensuring smooth business operations.
Compiling of formalities of sales/ income tax related areas.
Auditing and Corporate Law Compliance.
Preparing Annual Audit Program based on the risk exposure of the company.
Examining and evaluating the adequacy of effectiveness of the organization's system of
internal control and the quality of performance to ensure compliance to policies, plans,
procedures, laws and regulations that could have a significant impact on operations.
Evaluating internal controls of new systems or business contracts on a Corporate level,
and preparing Audit Committee Reports and making presentations to audit committee
members in order to brief them about state of affairs of the company.
Finance Responsibilities:
Entering into forward forex contracts judging the adverse movement trend of USD vis a
vis INR and reviewing the same at regular intervals
Monitoring Working Capital requirements and adjusting working capital elements
suitably in consultation with director(s).
Preparation of Annual Finance Budget and forecast EBIT for the period and reviewing
quarterly to incorporate significant transactions affecting the budget and forecast to suit
short term business planning and decision making.
Ensuring Insurance adequacy periodically by monitoring insurance cover viz activity
insured.
Supervising cash balance and pointing necessity for arrangement of cash for day to day
operations; when needed
Management of Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable:
Selection of and commercial negotiation with suppliers/vendors and appointing the
supplier based on selection criteria.
Supervising Accounts Payable function, viz payment regularity, payment cycle, fund
management.
Review of Accounts Receivable and Payables; ensuring timely payment to creditors;
suggesting proper course of action.
Ensuring timely statutory payments viz; VAT, TDS, Service tax, Excise duty, etc.
Audit and statutory compliance:
Preparing audit program for Internal audit covering core areas to be reviewed by the
auditors and follow up of significant and material deviations in consultation with junior
staff and colleagues to overcome the same.
Ensure compliance with parent company's internal operating guidelines and assist group
auditors in testing the compliance.
Preparation of Annual Financial Statements viz; Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet,
Notes to Accounts and various other relevant statements and Schedules forming part of
Annual Financial Information in accordance with Revised Schedule VI requirements
(XBRL format) for statutory audit.
Ensuring adherence to Indian Accounting Standards.
Coordinating with Statutory Auditors and handling their queries related thereto
Providing information to Transfer Pricing auditors related to international transactions in
coordination with parent company and other transacting overseas corporate bodies to
enable auditors to form opinion on various methods applied to arrive at international
transaction value.
Ensuring timely completion of Tax Audit, Transfer Pricing audit and VAT audit.
Direct and Indirect Taxation compliance:
Ensuring Direct tax compliance viz payment and filing of e-TDS and Returns, etc.
Ensuring Indirect Taxation compliance viz appropriate and timely payment of taxes and
filing of VAT/CST e returns, Excise e returns, service tax e returns.
Ensuring smooth clearance of imports of shipments by compliance of Import Regulations
viz; proper levy and timely payment of custom and other duties in co ordination with
clearing agents and Logistics department.
Accounting and MIS Responsibilities:
Monthly Budget preparation and review in consultation with Department to check
variances and incorporate forecast.
Daily check of financial transaction entries passed, random check of Bank statements
related to material transactions, negotiating with banks for fund management, foreign
payments, etc., checking of BRS for all operating Banks.
