Duties:
The Manitoba Emergency Services College (MESC) Primary Care Paramedic Instructors are primarily responsible for the development, delivery, maintenance and evaluation of training and educational programs at the College, focusing on the emergency services program.
The incumbent monitors and evaluates student performance and ensures that courses and programs are kept current with latest standards, regulations, acts and legislation.

Qualifications:
Essential:

Primary Care Paramedic licence and successful completion of an equivalent or comparable formal training or educational program.
Work or volunteer experience providing emergency response services.
Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to a variety of audiences.
Excellent teamwork skills to work positively and collaboratively with a diverse team.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and strict timelines.
Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining positive working relationships and partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare comprehensive student and training reports.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.

Experience delivering training and educational programs in an adult setting.
Conditions of Employment:

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
Must be able to travel throughout Manitoba and occasionally in Canada and Internationally
Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required
Must be physically capable of wearing full turn-out gear and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
Must have a valid Manitoba class 5 driver’s license
Must have a Manitoba Class 4 driver`s license with air brake endorsement or have the ability to obtain
Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory driver’s abstract
Must be physically capable of performing the duties and functions of the job, including lifting heavy objects, kneeling, standing, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights and entering confined spaces in various temperatures
Must be willing and able to complete Emergency Services Instructor 2 (ESI2) training within 6 months of hire
Must have and maintain an active Manitoba Primary Care Paramedic license
