About the role
The Manager, Better Regulation Practice leads the development and implementation of better regulation approaches and processes for Regional Training Services staff. This role drives capability building and provides strategic oversight to ensure regulatory practices are effective, proportionate, and aligned with better regulation principles.

Key accountabilities
Lead working groups and subject matter experts to deliver regulatory practice improvements
Set clear plans and guide rollout to lift practice across Regional Training Services staff
Track progress, assess impact, and report updates to Steering Committees and the Executive Leadership Team
Prepare strong business cases that meet required frameworks and standards
Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to support collaboration and better outcomes

About you
Experienced frontline, human services regulator with the capability and passion to build organisational regulatory capacity.
Able to navigate complex stakeholder environments to build alignment, influence change, and sustain engagement
You have demonstrated your ability to balance competing operational, policy, and customer priorities to deliver effective regulatory outcomes
Your understanding of vocational education and training will support you to promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across Regional Training Services
Your change management experience will support staff capability and secure buy-in for regulatory practice initiatives
You will demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role
Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
