Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the corporate events, brand activations, conferences, exhibitions, and related sectors.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
• Generate a robust pipeline of qualified leads through consistent industry networking (both online and offline), strategic cold outreach, targeted market research, and leveraging industry databases and contacts.
• Identify key decision-makers within target organizations and establish initial contact.
Client Engagement and Relationship Building:
• Conduct thorough needs analysis to understand client objectives, requirements, and goals for their events and activations.
• Develop compelling and customized pitch decks, proposals, and presentations that effectively communicate our value proposition and align with client needs.
• Conduct engaging and persuasive meetings and presentations with prospective clients, showcasing our capabilities and expertise.
• Nurture and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients to foster repeat business, explore upselling opportunities, and ensure client satisfaction.
Internal Collaboration:
• Collaborate closely and effectively with internal teams, including creative, operations, production, and marketing, to ensure a seamless transition from the pitch phase to successful event delivery.
• Communicate client requirements clearly and concisely to internal teams to ensure alignment and exceptional execution.
• Participate in internal brainstorming sessions to develop innovative and impactful event concepts.
Market Awareness and Strategic Insights:
• Stay consistently updated on the latest market trends, competitor activities, industry best practices, and emerging opportunities within the event management landscape.
• Analyze market data and identify potential niches or areas for business expansion.
• Provide regular reports and insights on business development activities, pipeline status, and market trends to the management team.
Sales and Effectiveness:
• Effectively negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to secure profitable business deals.
• Manage the sales cycle from initial contact through to contract closure.
• Track and report on sales performance metrics and provide accurate sales forecasts.
Representation and Visibility:
• Represent the company professionally at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to build relationships and generate leads.
• Enhance the company's visibility and reputation within the event management industry.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 4 years of proven business development experience specifically within the event management industry, with a strong track record of successful client acquisition and revenue growth.
• Exceptional client acquisition and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a natural ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for lead management and sales tracking.
• Solid understanding of the event management process, including planning, production, and execution.
