Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Business Development, the Business Development Manager’s focus will be to lead and enable the growth of our Business-to-Business team through exceptional delivery of operational and business development tasks. As the Manager, Business Development you will be involved in …

Business Development (Sales) – 50%

Establish and grow relationships with new and existing Licensed Producers and global ******** firms for B2B sales

Manage strategic business deals from initial contact to supply agreement contract execution

Support B2B LPs to grow and scale their business by providing quality ******** products and win-win solutions

Demonstrate Aurora’s core values when developing business with prospective customers

Participate in relationship-building opportunities, including conferences and other offsite events

Strategically identify revenue accretive B2B opportunities for Aurora

Coordinate with subject-matter-experts across the organization to deliver tasks and support business development activities

Lead contract negotiations and work closely with Legal, Regulatory, Quality Assurance and Operations to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction

Act as a subject-matter-expert for Aurora’s B2B services including bulk sales, contract manufacturing and genetics licensing

Own relationships with external Partner LPs and act as the single point of contact within Aurora

Ensure end-to-end customer compliance including but not limited to ensuring timely payment as per agreed upon payment terms

Experience with contract review and term negotiation

S&OP Coordination and Product Commercialization – 25%

Own the B2B sales and operations plan, inventory tracking, and customer allocations

Responsible for the product commercialization for all B2B products from Order to Delivery

Collaborate and manage relations with Facilities, Finance, Logistics, Operations, Procurement, QA, S&OP, Sales, other internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers

Strong critical thinking and bias towards action when managing multiple customer requests

Coordinate all sales orders, purchase orders and invoices for B2B activities

Delegate the collection of all required Quality Assurance documentation for sales and purchases

Work with Aurora’s Logistics and Transportation team to secure freight quotes, deliveries, and customer pick-ups

Ensure cross-functional team deliverables are ready on time to meet deal timelines

CRM & Customer Marketing – 15%

Create and distribute a monthly B2B sell sheet to LPs

Distribute targeted B2B opportunities to our LPs, on the foundation of understanding their business and commercial strategy

Manage Aurora’s B2B customer relationship management tracking tools in Smartsheet

Perform market research and data analysis to better understand product categories, competition, trends, and opportunities

Facilitate new customer setup and compliance

Process Improvement – 10%

Enable and support the standardization of business development operations across multiple B2B services

Comfortable working through ambiguity, with a lens on building structure and processes to standardize B2B functions

Document and keep process flows current

Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time

You would be the best fit for this role if you have…

8-10 years of professional experience in a customer facing role ideally in a CPG or pharmaceutical environment

Minimum 2 years of experience in the ******** industry and a strong passion for cannabis

Prior business development, sales or project management experience is an asset

Fluency in another language is an asset

Advanced knowledge of computer software applications including smartsheet, and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint)

Ability to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect; is effective both inside and outside the organization

Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working in an environment of changing deadlines, priorities, and requirements
