About the Role

As a Manager, Community and Whānau Wellbeing, you will:

lead teams of multi-skilled, varied health professionals that support the local delivery of integrated public health nursing, health promotion and prevention programmes and services in a way of working that puts whānau at the centre and is aligned with and will deliver Pae Ora.
Support emergency management and hold a CIMS lead role during outbreaks and responses.
Collaborate with Hauora Māori Services, Pacific Health, Iwi Māori Partnership Boards and wider community partners to ensure whānau and community aspirations are integral in planning and delivery of public health services.
The role works alongside other leadership roles to deliver the organisational priorities of National Public Health Service (NPHS), meeting performance requirements and to drive continuous improvement in processes and practices within the team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Te Ikaroa regional team.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The (NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. This role will lead teams of nurses, kaiāwhina, health promoters and allied health professionals.

About you

As a Manager, Community and Whānau Wellbeing, you are an experienced public health leader with proven experience of building capability and lifting performance of a multi-disciplinary team/unit. You will be able to deliver on programmes of work in a complex environment and be involved in developing and implementing effective group strategies.

You will also have:

A tertiary degree in nursing, Public Health, health or public management, or a related field
Minimum 3 years working at a senior leadership level
proven experience in Public Health leadership and / or nursing leadership and leading Māori and/or Pacific teams
Proven relationships throughout the Greater Wellington area with iwi/hapū and Pacific communities and leaders
Minimum five years in varied environments with responsibilities for achieving equitable health outcomes and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Successful experience creating a team culture in which people proactively try innovative approaches, learn, develop and find ways to continuously improve in their area of expertise and strive to improve health equity
