About this role
This role sits within our Financial Advisory practice and presents an exceptional opportunity for you to join our high-performing Corporate Finance team. You will be valued for your knowledge and commitment to the highest standards of technical expertise, together with your commitment to nurturing client relationships. You will work across a diverse client base, ranging from start-up firms to international multi-billion infrastructure asset managers and major corporates.
You will have the ability to deal with a variety of differing engagements, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) engagements, Independent Expert Reports (IERs) and other valuations. You will manage clients and engagements independently from start to finish, manage, and mentor junior staff and communicate with all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Provide accounting and financial analysis services to assist with M&A engagements
Conduct analysis using financial forecasts to advise management on matters related to business sale/purchase and/or mergers and acquisition of interests, capital raising including divestment, private placement and/or debt financing
Analyse Client organisation’s financial performance by analysing and reporting financial metrics based on historical and forecast financial statements including assessment of organisation’s operating costs, income and expenditure.
Lead the preparation of high-quality business valuation reports and advice for a range of purposes, including Independent Expert Reports (or Fairness Opinions), Purchase Price Allocations and general business, equity and intangible asset valuations
Prepare robust valuation assessments based on the full range of valuation methodologies, utilising best-practice financial modelling
Lead a team of professionals on client engagements from end to end, including coaching and developing team members on technical valuation matters
Skills & experience
Qualification(s) and/ or professional accreditation(s) in a relevant discipline such as Business/Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification
MAppFin or CFA qualification would be highly regarded
Significant experience in Corporate Finance in a professional services or investment banking environment. Some Australian experience would be desirable.
Extensive valuations experience using various methodologies - DCF, precedent transactions and traded comparable companies
Strong financial modelling skills based on a well-developed understanding of financial statements
Experience in building and interpreting complex, robust excel based financial models
Exceptional analytical, problem solving and report-writing skills, combined with a solid understanding of business dynamics and commercial value drivers and financial analysis
