Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Manager, Cultural Markets Sales and Marketing will be responsible for Chinese language sales and marketing initiatives to drive engagement and support sales efforts, managing new and existing initiatives across the portfolio. Additional language support beyond Chinese may exist in the future, but the current focus is Mandarin and Cantonese (Simplified and Traditional Chinese in the written form). This role collaborates closely with distribution channel partners from RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM), supporting initiatives focused on both RBC-affiliated advisors as well as 3rd party advisors across Canada. As a brand ambassador, you will work with internal stakeholders within RBC GAM, partners across RBC, as well as external vendors. The focus is on building brand affinity with this audience and managing translation and quality control. The role includes supporting thought leadership and insight content, product & digital tool launches, executing marketing & sales campaigns and digital initiatives, supporting national, regional and local client or advisor events, as well as managing several digital properties like RBC GAM’s Chinese website. The role will manage multiple projects and stakeholders in parallel. A key component will also be analyzing engagement and effectiveness metrics in the areas the role leads.

What will you do?

Own the management of all Chinese language translation for RBC GAM’s individual investor business in Canada, including impeccable quality control.
Establish ownership of the Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese website experience for RBC GAM. This would include overall accountability for content and integrity of the online experience for this audience. You will be an advocate for the audience and ensure that as tools, materials and resources are developed for the English/French sites, that they are also considered for Chinese adaptation.
Manage the content pipeline for Chinese marketing collateral, including print, video and digital materials. You will maintain accountability for the related budget, creative briefing and coordinating digital or conventional printing. You will establish a maintenance process to ensure material remains compliant and relevant over time.
For the adaptation of existing materials for this market, you will act as an expert advisor into imagery, phrasing, positioning, and general appropriateness of materials. For translated materials, you will act as an advocate for the audience to seek opportunities to optimize the standing of RBC GAM in the industry.
Maintain a pipeline of planned initiatives and manage priority for production, based on available resources, business need, budget, projected usage and other factors. You will ensure stakeholders understand what’s available and what’s in development, and where developing items are not practical, you will provide rationale and offer other solutions.
Support national, regional and local events to promote RBC GAM’s products and services, seeking opportunities to customize the message to this audience.
Manage projects from ideation to completion: assemble working teams, build workback schedules, manage reviews, extensive stakeholder management, collaborate with internal partners, and track deliverables to keep projects running on time.
Create new or update existing marketing properties/materials. This includes developing communications, collateral, videos and other materials, as well as ideating on improving user engagement.
Manage distribution of key messages and content to the target audience using multiple digital tools (i.e. Marketing Cloud, Aventri, Stova, Chime, Seismic, GAM Proprietary Tools, and other platforms).
Manage relationships with multiple internal partners such as Sales, Product, Digital, Design, and Compliance, and identify and execute on brand building opportunities.
Stay current with investment industry news and trends and competitive innovations.
Analyze metrics and make recommendations to have a greater impact to the business (i.e. improve efficiency, reduce costs and/or provide a better brand experience).
Use various tools and technologies as part of internal processes in managing projects (Wrike or familiarity with other project management platforms).
Manage all Chinese translation for sales, marketing and digital.
Explore with Product support, Compliance & Digital, the use of AI in the short term and long term, to reduce cost, create efficiencies and reduce time to market.
What do you need to succeed?
