We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager - Decision Science

Decision Sciences job family is structured to address end-to-end business needs. Members of this Job Family are differentiated by their capability of providing the required consultation & work with end-business by way of assessing the requirements, identifying the right analytical solution that can solve for the business problem, and developing the same for execution – often covering areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, enhancing internal business processes etc.,. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach as needed, and retain the flexibility to change track to adopt other solutions based on changed scenarios, in order to deliver on effective results. This talent group can be tapped into for providing solutions for varying areas including improving existing processes, technology and approaches by embedding exploratory & analytics & taking it forward with a consulting mind set.
Understanding of the UK & Global Fraud landscape to drive initiatives around the Card or Digital Payments transactions Fraud
Build Fraud mitigation rules across UK brands, products, journeys with specific focus on key fraud typologies leveraging comprehensive internal and external data sources.
Work in flexible hours (including weekends) to support key priorities of the region. The role will entail supporting the priorities in Business hour timing.
Manage the ongoing monitoring of the fraud detection systems to ensure that they are performing optimally and in line with appetite & manage flash fraud attacks
Interpret and manipulate large data sets to extract trend and identify issues and risk
Work with Fraud management systems in analyzing and deploying rules/ strategies for fraud mitigation
Work with the Asst Managers / Team leads to ensure that detailed root-cause analysis is undertaken to identify control and/or process/procedure failings that are driving fraud attacks, escalating to the process/control owner
Develop and implement routines to Work closely with the operational teams to ensure that any fraud alerts generated have an appropriate treatment strategy dependent upon the risk identified
Work in a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional set-up, support value creation and process efficiency initiatives, lead presentations and make recommendations to senior management.
Demonstrating agility in responding to spurt in the fraud attacks. Talking & liaising with the connected relevant teams to act swiftly to stop fraud attacks.
Taking ownership of the actions and demonstrating continuous learning & process improvement.
Working closely with the broader team / Line Manager to implement team’s roadmap.
Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance:
The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Skills/Experience Required:
Minimum 5 year of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data or managing operational processes
Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline like Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics etc. from a reputed university
Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent. In-depth knowledge and understanding of financial services/ banking/ fraud operations is a must
Ability to handle and effectively summarize large volumes of data
Knowledge and exposure of analytical tools like SAS, SQL, Python is preferred
Knowledge of using, calibrating and optimizing fraud detection tools is preferred
Strong stakeholder management skills and seamless delivery of analytics initiatives is expected
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex idea and solutions
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
